About Us
European Judo Academy was established in 2020 by a world champion Gela Kelikhashvili. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgia and began training Judo at the age of 5 with his father, a Master of Sports in Judo. At the age of 15 years old Gela Kelikhashvili was promoted to 1 Dan black belt, after having practiced Judo for 10 years.
European Judo Academy started off as a small gym in one of the suburbs of Chicago. It is now proud to call itself home to several national champions as well as gold, silver and bronze medalists who competed throughout the whole country. Regardless of your training goals, European Judo Academy strives to provide tools and skills that you can use in your everyday life. One will learn respect, gain confidence, develop a solid work ethic, know how to set goals and achieve them. Judo teaches commitment, discipline, coordination, balance, drive, communication, team work, inner calm and focus. Our programs have been specifically created for children and teens to work towards physical, mental, and total success. Not only will your children learn Judo from a world champion, they will also gain knowledge to improve focus, confidence, self-esteem, and motivation.
